This global HR module explores job stress, including the lack of balance between work and life (work-life balance or WLB), as it impacts people and organizations across the globe. It addresses four broad questions to assist employers in understanding how job stressors and WLB can affect their employees’ well-being and organization’s success:
(1) Why should employers be concerned about WLB?
(2) How do cultural differences and chang- ing demographics impact WLB and WLB initiatives?
(3) How is responsibility for WLB viewed globally? and
(4) Why don’t employees use the WLB initiatives available to them?
