This module explores the new global context in which business, non-governmental organizations and governments operate today. Using Friedman’s view of a flat world, the new Gestalt of 21st century globalization is described through 10 salient features. Major implications of the new global context are discussed for organizations, their managers and employees. Critical leading practices for organizational success and the role of global HR as well as the competencies of its practitioners are reviewed for operating in the current global reality.
